The Multimedia Education Resource for Learning and Online Teaching (MERLOT) ELIXR initiative is creating a repository of digital case stories for exemplary teaching innovations, illustrating both the product and the process of the innovations and their impact on student learning. The case stories demonstrate innovations in both disciplinary and institutional contexts and are designed for use in faculty development programs by partner institutions, as well as by individual faculty who access them through repository partners.
ELIXR milestones in fiscal year 2009-10: 1) the completion of all digital case stories (79 total) and the evaluation report; 2); the development of a new MERLOT ELIXR website 3) new partnerships with Professional Organization Development (POD) Network and the New Media Consortium (NMC) which will assist with sustainability; 4);a scholarly article to be published in the Fall 2010 To Improve Academy Journal; 5) a strong dissemination effort which has resulted in a notable increase in web traffic (in August 2010, there was a jump from 1,000 visitors a month to 1,500 visitors).
